Week of June 18-22

This week consisted of mainly entering orders that were coming in, which were a bunch! And then also doing my everyday tasks of checking samples in and out. 

6/23 Saturday off...

Having weekends off is so much fun....I don't know if I can go back to working weekends!

On Saturday, I went to the farmers market in Fort Green. I was so much fun and there was so much good stuff there! I got some really good apple juice! 

 After we walked around the the farmers market, we went to get some lunch and we to a place close by. It was called the Habana Outpost. They had the best grilled corn ever!

Then we just laid in the grass at Fort Green Park. We just listened to people playing drums and watching people dance. 

The week after...

So the week after market week was a little more calm. There were still appointments going on but  there weren't as many people coming in and out of the office. I was still in the showroom but not as often. I forgot to mention before that they were catering all during market week! So I got free lunch for almost 2 weeks!

I've been keeping the showroom straight but we've started to get orders in from the stores. So I've been entering orders most of the week. I was working till 10:30 the other night because we had so many orders come in. I like entering orders because it's fun to see which items stores will order and how much of each item they will order. 

Its amazing to see the line when it's first presented and as time goes on during market week, many of the items or certain colors will be dropped from the line. 

Once Friday came around, everything was calm again in the office. But the sad part was that there was no more food. 

Market Week

Sorry its taken me so long to update but I'm still catching up on rest from market week!

Market week started on June 4th! We started off the week with a presentation of the whole Resort Marc by Marc Jacobs line for Robert Duffy. So Monday I was helping get the handbags ready to show for the presentation.

Tuesday was the beginning of the appointments for all the buyers. From Tuesday to Friday we had appointments all day. There were buyers from Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman, and many more! I was in the showroom all week helping keep all the handbags and accessories in their place. I was making sure that everything was neat and presentable for the buyers to see.

It was so interesting to hear all the buyers talk about why and why not certain pieces would work for their stores.

I've also been working in the showroom so much that I now know almost every handbag in the Resort line. But I'm still learning the jewelry and mens.

Besides working in the showroom, I'm still doing my everyday tasks of checking in merchandise and keep track of samples. And also pulling samples to send to stores.

I also heard that Marc Jacobs was in the building....but I didn't see him :(

Almost there...

So Friday was the start of market week! All day Friday and Saturday there were presentations showing the new Resort line for all departments! I was able to see the presentation for handbags, jewelry and wallets. 

I love being able to see all of the new merchandise before the stores! It was also interesting to see them explain how and why they decided to do certain prints and why they choose certain colors. I wish I was able to see the RTW but I was able to sneak a peek of the models on Saturday and the clothes look super cute!

I get Sunday off but next week I'll be working in the showroom! While I'm working in the showroom, they want us to wear Marc by Marc Jacobs clothes. So today they gave me some Marc by Marc clothes! And since I'm working in the showroom for about 6 or 7 days, I need about 6 or 7 outfits! So I got some really cute dresses and some tops!  I can't wait to wear them!!

Since they gave me outfits for wear for market week, it will be so much easier getting dressed in the morning!

Preparing for Market Week

This week we are preparing for market week! Which means I will be working this weekend! 

So far I have been doing inventory on past samples from the Resort 2011 line. It's time to get those out of the way and make room for the new Resort 2012 line!

All week I have been taking inventory on past seasons of handbags and accessories and making room to move the Fall 2012 line out of the showroom to make room for the new Resort line.

I've also been doing my normal tasks of sending samples to department stores and making sure everything gets where it need to go. There is so much to do and so much going on that I had to work Saturday.

No pictures this time but maybe I can snap a picture of the view of my office next time!
