First week...well 2 days

So I started working Thursday......and I LOVE it!!!!! Everyone is so nice and I've already learned so much in the past 2 days. I have my own desk and computer. The view from the office is amazing because we are the 9th floor and can see so much of Soho. 

On the first day of my internship, she just had me jump right into everything! I got to learn how to keep track of all the samples that are going in and out of the office. I send messengers to major department stores to pick up samples they had. 

On my second day, I checked more items in and out of the office. I also logged some handbags out that are going to be in a magazine for a photo shoot.  Then I got to write up descriptions and measurements of Men's bags for a department store. 

It's cool to know that all the handbags and accessories that I log in and out of the office are the exact same ones that are being photographed to be online for department stores or sometimes photo shoots. I wish I could post pictures but I can't...maybe I can get some of my desk. I will have to post a picture of the bathrooms...they are so nice!! I can't wait to learn more this week and experience market week! 

I haven't done much beside working these past few days but I am going to a free movie tonight! So I'll take some more pictures soon!

WOW!

Yesterday I wend to the FIT Museum! Their current exhibit was showing the graduating students work. There was everything from apparel design and even toy design. It was so amazing to see that all of work was done by students and most of them were younger than me. 

They also had a Barbie exhibit!!!!!! I think that was my favorite part because I love Barbie. All of the designs were done my students too. 

We also went to Macy's, the Big one!! It's seven stories and and has three Starbucks, THREE!!! And their were more restaurants!! We had to follow a map to get to the shoe department. I would hate to work there, it was way to busy and to big!

So far....

So, I've been in NYC for 4 days now and I have had so much fun! What made it even better is having my friend Leah fly up here and explore the city with me! We have spent a lot of time in Manhattan and Brooklyn. My favorites areas (so far) are Williamsburg in Brooklyn and Soho. There are so many cute places to go in each areas and cute little shops, I just wish I could buy everything! I love the fact that I don't have to drive again till August! I love taking the subway and being able to ride while I'm riding.

               

Yesterday we spent the day in Coney Island. It wasn't as cheesy as I thought it was going to be, I was actually really fun. We didn't ride any rides or play games but we did do some people watching.

Today we made our way out to the Brooklyn Flea Market in Williamsburg. THAT WAS AMAZING! There was so many cute clothes and accessories!! Hopefully I can go back soon and maybe buy some stuff!

Well, I don'y start my internship till Thursday so I probably won't post again till then and maybe I can try and make them longer! Can't wait to start, I'll be spending the next 4 day picking out my first day outfit!!!
